Striking and sculptural, this black carnival glass butter dish features a rich black glass base paired with an ornate domed lid. The lid is beautifully detailed with paneled sections of textured pattern and smooth curved ribs, topped with a faceted knob that catches the light like a cut crystal finial.

The wide underplate has a softly scalloped edge with beaded detailing, giving the piece an elegant, almost Victorian feel. The deep black glass adds drama and makes this dish stunning.

Very good vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
